Meet the team

Owner - Jamie Grant

Co-owner of The Whistler Sports Academy and Combo Camps, Jamie’s life has been centered around the service industry for over twenty years. His training and experience as both a level 3 Ski Pro (Canada and Japan) and as a Tennis Pro (Peter Bur- wash International, P.B.I., Tennis Canada certified) combined with a successful and eventful seven years as an event producer and general manager/partner of a Live Blues Club has given him a unique understanding and appreciation for what great customer service is.

Comfortable as a host and/or coach with all kinds of people of different levels, ages etc. Jamie thoroughly enjoys not just improving people’s skills on the mountain or court but making sure they have a lot of fun doing it!

Olly is co-owner of The Whistler Sports Academy and Combo Camps. He has enjoyed a passion for sport and the outdoors since a young age and has derived great pleasure from sharing this with others through coaching skiing, guiding fly fishing and of course running Combo camps!

Originally from London England where he worked in the field of Law for over 10 years, Olly escaped to the French Alps where he worked for both Evolution 2 Ski School and Adventure Company where he was involved in the activity programming and delivery of events, before working as a ski instructor at EV2 and ESF ski schools. He moved with his wife and daughter to Whistler in 2004.

Director - GRETA GAJDA

Greta, originally from Australia, has been coaching children for 20 years. She is a sailing instructor, swim coach, canoe instructor, ski and snowboard instructor, cross country and downhill mountain biking coach. Greta spends her winters teaching private ski and snowboard lessons specialising in children and families, and summer on her bike on the mountain and in the valley.

Greta loves her job teaching children and teens because of the satisfaction she feels when her students are having fun achieving their goals. Greta is a mother of a high energy boy and is very effective at getting her students to follow directions. As the commanding officer of the Dolphin Sea Cadets Corps for 10 years until she moved to Canada, Greta regularly single-handedly ran games for 75 children between 4 and 12.

Lauren Hetherington has worked professionally with children for the last 15 years, having been a nanny, preschool teacher, childcare worker, ski instructor and youth services specialist at the Whistler Library. For the last 6 years she has been supervising the 3-5 year ski program at Whistler Blackcomb. She believes in fostering children's developmental growth through child led learning, outside play and activities focused on the environment we live in. When she's not working with kids you'll find her skiing, riding bikes, on the lake on her Stand-up Paddleboard or relaxing in a yoga class.
